Cindy essay : 3

Euthanasia means behavior that make person or animal to die with less pain and it performance by patient or their family's agreement. And they do it with some medicine mostly. 'Euthanasia'? Is it a right way?

“Even thought I were ask by patient, I will not prescribe any medicine letting them die. And I will not suggest to do it. "
- Hippocratic Oath

Yes. I want to be part of the opposite opinion at 'Euthanasia'. There are few reasons why I against about Euthanasia.

At first, Euthanasia can make society becoming insensible about death. If there are more and more increase of Euthanasia, people will think that Euthanasia is not important thing at all. And it also cause decrease of value and dignity of life.

Secondly, there are lot of possibility of danger that euthanasia can use for a wrong purpose. Euthanasia is not officially safety way yet. So it can cause many terrible malpractice. But we don't have any safety device to stop all of that problems.

The conclusion, Euthanasia is distinctly criminality. Because, Euthanasia pass off with purpose and plan so it take part of murder. And it means against to the 'Right to life'. It can be fatal to society order than human have to keep. Euthanasia is also dislocated with ethnics and morality.

To summarize, there are three reasons why I against to euthanasia. First one is about value and dignity of life and next one is possibility of danger that can cause by Euthanasia. Last one is about criminal nature of Euthanasia.

Even though there seems no hope suffering from incurable illness, we should let him know that still he is worthy leaving because God has great plan for him. Somebody can be recovered miraculously and even with the illness he can possibly give a good influence to the people around him. Just like all baby are joy to their parent, even though doing anything, we, ourselves are joy in God's eyes. Even though you cannot do anything special, due to the illness.

  1. Cindy! I like your essay:-) I agree with you that it's God's duty to give that person to die or to live and He has plans! I have a question! But what if the person who really wants to be euthanized? Do their family or friends near that person have to restrain him or her?

But one of his family is so sick, so only respirator and a lot of medicine keep his life barely, what do you think about this situation?

  4. In Christian perspective, yes, euthanasia is definitely wrong. I agree with your opinion and it should be kept illegal. But I have several questions for this topic.

First of all, you mentioned on your essay that euthanasia means behavior that make person or animal to die with less pain and it performance by patient or their family's agreement. But what I see in your essay is only about human euthanasia. How do you think about animal euthanasia? (I think it might be related to Lianne's topic, animal testing.)

And nowadays, in America and some other countries (not our country yet, as I know) there is a surgical procedure called cryonics, in which they preserve human bodies in ultra-low temperature. I think some of us might be familiar with this since it had been introduced in news and documentaries several times.

In my opinion, cryonics share many similarities with euthanasia. They keep themselves in liquid nitrogen because they don't have any hope, just like they kill themselves or their relatives in euthanasia. In my opinion, cryonics is just like killing themselves since there's no way to defrost any human body without damages.

But on the other hands, there are many differences between these two also. For cryonics, the hope that their diseases can be cured with future's technology and they will be awaken when the technology to defrost them should be backed up. But for euthanasia, it isn't.

How do you think about this? Are you also agreeing that cryonics should not be allowed as you do to euthanasia, or not?

  6. Well. It is a sensitive topic in these days. And I also interested in this topic. You said euthanasia is a murder. Then, what is your division of life and death? Is brain death person is a living human?

  7. Thank you for sharing your idea. I enjoyed your essay.
Ah, you did a good job with a life ethic problem, like Lianne.
I found grammar mistake in your essay. "ethnic->ethic" Thank you.
However, let's assume that I don't believe in God. Now I'll going to keep go on the question.
In your essay, you said that euthenasia is threatening the human dignity because it diminishes the life value oneself. But I think differently. There's still many problem with euthanasia like misusing, but in an aspect of your argument, in a matter of 'life value', I think euthanasia completes the human value. Choosing oneself die is not allow to many life creatures. For example, Soldiers die for dignity. Choosing to die means he or she has the absolute right for oneself, thus it's the noble option for human to die without shame, and painful body.
Now, how do you think about this idea?
